Sun Country Airlines announced today it will be leasing a Boeing 737–700 for use during its busy summer travel season beginning in the next few weeks. As a result, Sun Country is recalling pilots affected by last months staff reductions to accommodate the newly increased flying schedule.
"I am pleased
that the aircraft has arrived in time for the summer," said Stan Gadek, president and CEO of Sun Country Airlines. "I look
forward to welcoming back our pilots to regular flying status."
The aircraft will join Sun Country's existing fleet of Boeing 737–800s and is
configured for 12 first class and 112 coach seats. Sun Country will use the aircraft in regular scheduled service as well
as for its growing military charter business.
Sun Country serves many popular destinations in the summer including Anchorage,
Washington D.C., Las Vegas, Orlando, Los Angeles, Seattle and San Diego. The airline also reinstated twice daily service
to New York (JFK) beginning this month.
