Sun Country Airlines will operate a special flight to the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, FL on Saturday, April 22nd. The day-trip, leaving at 7:30 a.m. and returning to the Twin Cities at 7:50 p.m., is open to the public.
The flight is the most recent in a series of trips to notable aviation museums. The trips, organized by retired Sun Country pilot Malcolm ‘Spook’ Jones, are designed to provide Minnesotans and aviation enthusiasts with the opportunity to visit prominent museums as a day trip instead of requiring a longer vacation.
The National Museum of Naval Aviation is the second largest aviation museum in the United States, housing over 140 historic aircraft and attracting over one million visitors each year. Since the museum opened in 1963, visitors have been awed by the authentic artifacts, impressive aircraft, and the hands-on exhibits.
