Sun Country Expands Flight Schedule
St. Paul, MN – August 8, 2007
Sun County Airlines has increased the number of flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. (Dulles). The additions to the schedule will be in place by the end of August. Sun Country will also add Tucson, Arizona and West Palm Beach, Florida to its schedule by December in anticipation of the heavy leisure travel season.
The increase service is a result of two new planes arriving for Sun Country. The first was put into service in mid-July and the second will go into service in mid-August. “All of Sun Country’s flights originate from Minneapolis and the planes come home every night so our passengers can be assured we will get them to their destination,” said Jay Salmen, CEO of Sun Country.
The increased service coincides with the new Ufly rewards frequent flyer program Sun Country launched July. The program is based on trips not miles so 10 trips earns the customer a free trip. “Sun Country opted for a frequent flyer program which favors the customer. No black out dates or seats. We feel if customers fly with us in the off season they should be able to take advantage of the program during the holidays or spring break to redeem trips,” said Vice Chairman and CEO, Jay Salmen.
