SUN COUNTRY AIRLINES INTRODUCES JOE SCHMIT AS “VACATION JOE”

Sun Country Airlines announced today Joe Schmit as their new spokesperson for Sun Country Vacations. The Airline recently launched the new program, allowing travelers to save time and money by booking airfare, hotel and more in a single, convenient transaction on suncountry.com. Having traveled significantly over the past 30 years Joe Schmit has gained vast expertise in the travel area. Schmit will be the new face of the campaign as “Vacation Joe” and will also provide travel tips, advice and fun facts for Sun Country Vacation consumers.

Joe Schmit hosted the Sun Country Vacation’s “Ugliest Tropical Shirt Contest” on Tuesday, January 12 at Corona Cantina in the Mall of America. The “Ugliest Tropical Shirt” winner was awarded an all-inclusive trip to Riu Resorts in Puerto Vallarta as well as a $100 gift certificate to Tommy Bahama. Judges of the contest were Stan Gadek, Sun Country Airlines CEO; Staci, KS95 radio personality; John Franklin with Caribou Coffee; Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders; and the winners of Sun Country’s first annual “Vacation Joe Pineapple Hunt.” Sun Country also partnered with Caribou Coffee and UV Vodka for the event.

Schmit, who served as a sportscaster for 21 years at KSTP-TV, recently announced his return to the station.
