Sun Country's Baggage Policy Update Effective May 5, 2008, passengers who have purchased tickets on or after May 5, 2008, may check one bag free of charge and check a second bag for $25 each way; each bag is not to exceed 62 linear inches (length plus width plus height) and weighing up to 50 pounds. Our carry on policy of one personal item (purse or laptop bag) plus one additional bag remains in place. Additional bags, as well as bags over 62 linear inches and 50 pounds, are subject to excess baggage fees. For more information, click here.

Sun Country Expands Flight Schedule Sun Country's service to West Palm Beach, FL and Tucson, AZ began in December 2007. Sun Country flies to West Palm Beach from Minneapolis/St. Paul daily Mondays through Fridays, and to Tucson from Minneapolis/St. Paul on Sundays and Thursdays. Sun Country will also have twice daily service Mondays through Fridays between New York (JFK) and West Palm Beach beginning in January 2008.

Notice to Harlingen Passengers Due to the spread of the Mexican fruit fly, only approved fruit can be carried by passengers departing from Harlingen, TX. Approved fruit will have a numbered stamp stating that it is certified for transport.

Passport Requirements Effective October 1, 2007, all adults, minors and infants traveling to Mexico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic or St. Maarten must have a valid passport. The temporary accommodation for US Citizens who had applied for but not yet received a passport due to longer than anticipated passport processing times ended on September 30, 2007. Light Rail Service Resumes The New Humphrey Terminal station of the Hiawatha light rail line is now open. The Hiawatha line, which runs from downtown Minneapolis to the Mall of America (just south of the airport), is an easy alternative to get to the Humphrey Terminal. Notice to Passengers The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has revised the security restrictions for liquids and gels. Travelers are allowed to transport liquids, gels, lotions or similar items through the security checkpoint if the items are less then 3.4oz (100 ml) individually and they fit into a transparent 1 qt (1 liter) plastic bag. Additionally, it is recommended that all passengers arrive at least one hour prior to departure for domestic flights and two hours for international travel.
