What is Sun Country Rewards?

Sun Country Rewards is Sun Country's loyalty program and is ideal for every type of traveler, as members have the option to redeem some or all of their points for travel. Sun Country Rewards members earn points for every dollar spent with Sun Country Airlines purchases and redeeming those points is flexible and easy.

Earning Points

Do I earn points on my vacation purchase?

Yes! Sun Country Rewards members earn 2 points for every $1 spent directly with Sun Country, including vacation packages, seat selection, bag fees, tickets, etc. Points are earned on purchases made directly with Sun Country, either online at suncountry.com or by calling Sun Country Reservations. Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent on bookings made through a travel agent or via other travel websites.

For package purchases with more than one Sun Country Rewards member on the reservation, points will be awarded to each passenger who is a Sun Country Rewards member. To calculate how many points each Sun Country Rewards member earns, divide the total points earned on the package purchase by the number of passengers on the reservation.

The member’s Sun Country Rewards number wasn’t entered during the booking process. Is there a way to get point credit for a flight that has already been completed?

Yes. Online point credit requests are temporarily unavailable. You can call a Sun Country Rewards Specialist to request credit for points within 90 days of the flight or vacation.  In the case of missing points from Sun Country Rewards partners, it is the member's responsibility to contact the partner for instructions on how to request missing points and to verify qualifying purchase(s) and transmittal of points to Sun Country Airlines. If the booked travel has not yet occurred, log in to My Trips and update the reservation with the Sun Country Rewards member number prior to traveling or call Sun Country Rewards. 

How many points are earned for each trip on Sun Country?

  • Earn 2 points for every $1 spent directly with Sun Country on qualifying Sun Country Airlines purchases and some qualifying partner purchases. Points are earned on purchases made online at suncountry.com or by calling Sun Country Reservations.
  • Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on bookings made through a travel agent or via other travel websites.
  • Onboard purchases are not eligible. Points earned on partner purchases may vary. See specific partner offers for details. Points will be awarded according to this earning structure effective November 3, 2018.

When will I receive the points I earn?

Please allow up to 14 days after travel for points to be deposited into your account.

How are points calculated and awarded if there are multiple people on the reservation?

Total points earned by each traveler on a reservation will be calculated by dividing the total points earned on the reservation by the number of travelers on the reservation, and then awarding an equal amount of points to each Sun Country Rewards member who has his/her member number entered on the reservation. 

Are there bonus point promotions?

Yes. Opportunities to earn bonus points will be available from time to time. Be sure to sign up to receive our emails to get the latest updates on low fares and bonus point promotions.

Do points expire?

Effective January 2, 2019, points expire 36 months after date earned. Qualifying earn and redeem activities include:

  • Earning points on eligible Sun Country Airlines purchases
  • Earning points on purchases made with a Sun Country Airlines® Signature Visa® card
  • Earning points on qualifying Sun Country Rewards car rental partner purchases (member’s Sun Country Rewards number must be included on the rental reservation in order to qualify)
  • Redeeming points on Sun Country Airlines travel
  • Donating points

     

How are points earned in the Sun Country Rewards program?

Points may be earned in the following ways:

  • Earn 2 points for every $1 spent directly with Sun Country on Sun Country Airlines purchases, including flights, vacation packages, bag fees, and seat assignments. Points are earned on purchases made online at suncountry.com or by calling Sun Country Reservations. Onboard purchases are not eligible.
  • Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on bookings made through a travel agent or via other travel websites.
  • Earn points on purchases with your Sun Country Airlines® Signature Visa® card 
    • 2 points per $1 spent on Sun Country Airlines purchases 
    • 1 point per $1 spent everywhere else
  • Earn points on eligible purchases with Sun Country Rewards partners

How else can Sun Country Rewards points be accrued?

Members can take advantage of bonus point promotions and eligible purchases with Sun Country Rewards partners.

Redeeming Points

How many points does it take to redeem for a ticket?

Sun Country Rewards points can be redeemed for a checked bag fee, a ticket, an entire trip or any Sun Country purchase in between. The amount of points will vary depending upon the purchase price of the trip. To calculate how many points are needed is easy: 100 points = $1. For a flight costing $150, you’d need 15,000 points (150 x 100 = 15,000).

How do I redeem my points?

First, log in at suncountry.com with your Sun Country Rewards account information. Then, start shopping! Sun Country Rewards members may use as few or as many points as desired to purchase travel. At the end of the checkout process, you will be prompted to choose a form of payment. Payment can be points only, dollars only or a combination of points and dollars. If some points are redeemed and a dollar balance remains, the system will allow you to complete the purchase with a credit card. It is possible to change the amount of points before finalizing the purchase. Simply follow the prompts to change the amount and recalculate prior to finalizing the purchase. Please note: if points are redeemed in the initial reservation, then points cannot be redeemed at any other point in the reservation prior to travel.

Can points be used to reduce the price of the ticket?

Yes. Sun Country Rewards members can redeem points for nearly any Sun Country purchase, including flights, vacation packages, seat selection, bag fees, etc. Points are redeemed as a form of payment, allowing members to purchase their travel with points only or a combination of points and dollars. Redemption rates can be found in the Sun Country Rewards Program section

Can I combine my points with dollars to purchase a ticket?

Yes! Sun Country Rewards members may use as few or as many points as desired to purchase travel. Members can redeem any amount of points  at the end of the checkout process, so hang in until the very end of the transaction to use points! If a dollar balance remains, the system will prompt you to complete the purchase with a credit card once an amount of points is selected for redemption. It is possible to change the amount of points before finalizing the purchase. Simply follow the prompts to change the amount and recalculate prior to finalizing the purchase. Please note: if points are redeemed in the initial reservation, then points cannot be redeemed at any other point in the reservation prior to travel.

How are points redeemed for travel on Sun Country?

Sun Country Rewards points may be redeemed for travel by the Sun Country Rewards member at suncountry.com. The option to redeem some or all of a member’s points will be available on the payment page. Members can also redeem points by calling Reservations. 

How many points are needed to earn a travel award?

Members can redeem as few or as many points as they’d like towards nearly any Sun Country purchase, including flights, vacation packages, seat assignments, and baggage fees.

Enrollment

Does it cost anything to join Sun Country Rewards?

No. Membership is voluntary, and strongly encouraged to earn award travel and receive other valuable benefits.

Does one have to be a Sun Country Rewards member to earn points?

How does one enroll in Sun Country Rewards?

It's simple. Visit suncountry.com and click on ”Join Sun Country Rewards.” 

Is enrollment available offline?

No. A paper enrollment form can also be requested at the address or fax number given above.

Account Activity/Information

How are point statements received?

Electronic statements are emailed every other month and members can access their account online at suncountry.com.

What if a member doesn't know his/her Sun Country Rewards membership number? 

Retrieve account number/information by calling a Sun Country Rewards Specialist.  If outside of Sun Country Rewards business hours, call Sun Country Reservations. 

Where can I view the points I earned for past travel?

Sun Country Rewards members can view travel history and other account details by logging in to their member account at suncountry.com

When are Sun Country Rewards points awarded?

Total points issued for one-way flights, round-trip flights, or flight and hotel packages are deposited after the first flight departs. The total amount deposited includes points for the complete transaction, including flight, flight and hotel, flight and car, or flight, hotel, and car rental reservations (when applicable). 

Where can I update my profile?

Sun Country Rewards members can update their profile by logging in to their member account at suncountry.com

Where are the Terms & Conditions for the Sun Country Rewards program?

Which major holidays are the Sun Country Rewards Specialists not available?

Sun Country Rewards Specialists are not available on major holidays that fall on a weekday. Major holidays that may be affected are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Sun Country Reservations can help with general Sun Country Rewards related questions and reservations. Reservations is open daily, 6am-11pm Central Time.

Point Pools

Are point pools changing?

Yes. Effective November 3, 2018, point pools will stop accruing. Pool participants will have until January 1, 2019, to use their pool points or the points will be returned to individual accounts as of January 2, 2019. If individual points are older than 36 months, the points will expire on January 2, 2019.

Are point pools coming back?

Yes, that is our plan.
