The best way to get around the downtown areas of both cities is on foot. A series of skyways connect many of the buildings, making it easy to warmly navigate the cities in winter. Metro Transit is the best public transportation option and operates convenient bus and light-rail routes that course through both cities and surrounding areas. The airport is also accessible via Metro Transit and conveniently connects travelers to both downtown Minneapolis and the Mall of America on its Blue Line. From April-November you can also find bike-sharing stations scattered throughout the cities.
