Traveling from the airport into downtown Providence can be done by rental car, app-based ride service, bus, as well as the MBTA commuter rail, which has stops at the T.F. Green airport and Providence Station.
If traveling between Providence and Newport, you can go by car, bus, or there is a ferry that runs from Memorial Day weekend into October. Once in Newport, you don’t need a car, as there is a great bus and shuttle system.
