Portable Electronic Devices
Sun Country Airlines is pleased to allow customers expanded use of authorized Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) below 10,000 feet on all applicable flights designated in the table below.
What PEDs are authorized?
Customers are allowed to use their small PEDs, including e-readers, smartphones, tablets and similar PEDs weighing less than two pounds, if the cellular function is disabled or placed in airplane mode prior to departure.
Large PEDs weighing more than two pounds, such as laptop computers and personal DVD players, must be stowed in either an overhead bin or underneath the seat in front of you for taxi, takeoff, and landing. Once airborne, these PEDs may be used prior to 10,000 feet, provided they can be retrieved while passengers remain seated with seat belts fastened.
The use of any device in the transmit mode, or the use of any cellular network services, voice, or data is strictly prohibited by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
What are qualifying flights?
Expanded use of PEDs is authorized on flights only within the 50 United States. This does not include U.S. Territories such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Expanded use is also allowed during certain portions of international flights originating or terminating in the United States. Please see the table below for complete information on what flights and what phase of flight the expanded use of PEDs will be permitted.
