Baggage & Other Fees
Seat assignments are available in advance for a fee or for free at the airport at the time of check-in.
Fees are based on where the seat is located on the plane as well as additional amenities, such as extra legroom or extra recline.
Seat fees are shown during the seat selection process at the time of booking, online after booking via My Trips, or during online check-in. You must have a seat assignment in order to check-in online.
All seat pricing is per seat, per flight segment.
Traveling with Pets
Pets as Carry-On or Checked Luggage
An advance conditional reservation is recommended per segment due to the limitation above, through Sun Country Reservations for a non-refundable fee of $125.
Walk-up requests may be accommodated for a non-refundable fee of $199, if within the limit of four pets per aircraft. View traveling with pets policy.
First Class Upgrades
Upgrading to First Class 25 Hours or More Prior to Departure
For travelers who have already purchased a Coach Class ticket, they can upgrade to a First Class ticket by calling Reservations. The cost to upgrade will be the difference between the originally purchased Coach Class ticket and the cost of the First Class ticket, plus any applicable change fees.
Upgrading 1 to 24 Hours Prior to Departure
If there are First Class seats available, a purchased Coach Class ticket can be upgraded 1 to 24 hours prior to departure as follows (prices vary by destination):
For Flights within the U.S.
Travelers can upgrade:*
- During the online check-in process
- Via the Sun Country Airlines mobile app
- At the ticket counter
- By calling Reservations
*Please note: For flights within the U.S., any pre-paid baggage or preferred seat fees will be deducted from the total cost of the upgrade when checking in online or by calling Reservations. The pre-paid baggage or preferred seat fee credit does not apply when upgrading to First Class at the airport.
For Flights to/from Mexico, Costa Rica & the Caribbean
A purchased Coach Class ticket can be upgraded at the ticket counter upon check-in.

Sun Country offers a variety of food, drinks, and in-flight entertainment options which can be purchased using a debit card or Visa® or MasterCard® credit card. Please note, cash is not accepted.

Payment, Cancel & Change Policies
Reservations are nonrefundable but are changeable, less applicable per person change fees (unless Travel Protection Plan is purchased; coverage varies). No credits or price adjustments are made if the price changes after the reservation has been purchased. Review complete details.
